If you know me at all, you know I LOVE my county fair. We live walking distance to it, which I also love!
This year it was Aug. 7-16, and we were there every day except Wed, 2nd Fri, Sun. We even went to Thursday preview night. I always take some vacation days off for those first 2 weeks of Aug. partly because of the fair and partly because T is busy with football.
We bought E the mega ride pass this year for $45 prior to start of fair. Super deal for us! He would just report to this specific trailer and get his hand stamped and his pass punched. On Monday the lady that was punching his pass was impressed that he had been there everyday so far! The pass was great, he loved that he had his pic on it with his name. It was a lanyard that he would wear and be able to go on any ride.
Ethan is now tall enough for the ‘big kid’ rides! He is 49”. There were a couple of kiddie rides that he was too tall to go on.
His new fav is the swings.
He was even super brave and went on the big kid swings, called YoYo. It was way up there, but he loved it!
He was begging me to go on the ferris wheel. Luckily we ran into a friend from his k class and he went with them on it, on Friday.
The first Sat. night I bought tickets and went on the Sizzler and Tilt-a-Whirl with E. Tilt-a-Whirl is my absolute fav. E learned how to lean into the curve some this year.
The Sizzler looks like the Scrambler of my youth, but it is not. It is easily 3 times faster! It was crazy, I wanted it to be over.

Trent knew those kids, but I crack up everytime I watch it!
And he conquered the scary spinning circle thing in the Shrek Fun House. He would go this like 4-5 times in a row.
First time riding on the merry-go-round alone – now that he is tall enough!
On Monday, my sister and her kids went with us.
So proud of E that he actually won at Roller Bowler this year! That is our fav game. I won on Friday, I think. Ethan won on Monday and Trent didn’t win until after Ethan.
On Tuesday night we had to go to see the fireworks, but that was just E and me.
Thursday was hotdog eating contest and my mom went with us.
The kid next to Ethan won like in 13 secs. We remembered that he won last year, too.

She even wanted to ride on the Tilt-a-Whirl with Ethan. T thinks it is funny that she actually rode it. I remember that was the only ride she would go on with us.
There was a new food stand this year, it is usually the same people in the same spots so we notice! Neat thing is that we know them! Bubba BBQ and it was really good! She kept giving E some treats when we would stop by.
On Saturday, T & I got wristbands from A – so nice!! So T went on that Sizzler
Ethan gave the Dragon Coaster another try this year, I told him he could handle it after he went on the Sizzler!
Then he really surprised us and went on the Gravitron! I have always been to chicken to go on it. T went with him and Ethan said it wasn’t a big deal at all! I didn’t get a pic of it, it is the space ship ride that just spins.
and I went on the Ferris Wheel with E and got this cool pic before my camera died on me.
We just saw a little of the racing pigs. Went inside the Fam Arts bldg with my mom. We actually skipped the industrial bldg this year.
I had my member pass with 10 punches and A sent us 2 single passes. We usually went during the day-free before 3 or sometimes at night and T knows some of the guys at the walk in gate. On Sat. night I made him punch my pass because i felt bad that it had NO punches on it! He claimed his punch was broken but punched it in the middle of the pass!
Another fair, same fair different year – but I will always love it.
