2012 year in review

2012 wasn’t a great year for our family.

I took a break from blogging in May, which was when all the crazy, scary problems happened.

APRIL 3 – our 12 year old dog, Ashton, died

MAY 14 – Trent has emergency surgery, diverticulitis. We were told he was very lucky, like ‘winning the lottery’ lucky that he made it to surgery. He will be in the hospital for 12 days.

MAY 25 – Trent is home from hospital, but has home health care, and 3 types of iv anitbiotics

JUNE 15 – Trent has to go to ER suddenly, admitted to hospital for 7 days. We celebrate Father’s Day and our “lucky 13” anniversary in hospital. Home again with iv antibiotics. He has wound vac which requires more home healthcare. T has lost close to 50lbs.

JULY 4 – went to last hour of parade, it was super hot this year. Trent was still on the mend.

Christmas 2012

We had quite a Christmas this year. We hosted Christmas Eve for T’s side. We had our appetizer meal and his parents brought over most of the food.

Trent had a trip to the ER the night prior to Christmas Eve. We were there from 10p until 3am! He got the best Christmas gift in that he was not admitted. We really thought that he would be, since it was the same thing that happened back in June.

Santa put his presents and stockings on the table this year due to the puppy. We left his cookies there, too.DSC05185DSC05187DSC05191DSC05194

Love Matt’s reaction to his gift…our puppy tore open 3 presents under the tree and his was one that he liked especially. He chewed apart his DS game! Luckily, very luckily, he didn’t touch the actual game cartridge that was lodged in the center of it all. DSC05224

Cookies I made this year…cake balls, wedding cakes, choc chip, sugar tree cutouts, choc caramel squares.DSC05231DSC05232DSC05233DSC05234DSC05235
