2012 wasn’t a great year for our family.
I took a break from blogging in May, which was when all the crazy, scary problems happened.
APRIL 3 – our 12 year old dog, Ashton, died
late APRIL – get a puppy, Nougat, a soft coated wheaten terrier
MAY-JUNE – Ethan plays B minor little league, with limited attendance due to our crazy summer.
MAY 14 – Trent has emergency surgery, diverticulitis. We were told he was very lucky, like ‘winning the lottery’ lucky that he made it to surgery. He will be in the hospital for 12 days.
MAY 25 – Trent is home from hospital, but has home health care, and 3 types of iv anitbiotics
JUNE 15 – Trent has to go to ER suddenly, admitted to hospital for 7 days. We celebrate Father’s Day and our “lucky 13” anniversary in hospital. Home again with iv antibiotics. He has wound vac which requires more home healthcare. T has lost close to 50lbs.
JULY 4 – went to last hour of parade, it was super hot this year. Trent was still on the mend.
AUG 3-12 – Went to our county fair, which we all love.
AUG. 20- Ethan gets his braces off right before school starts. He will eventually need full set of braces when he is older.
AUG. 26 – Go to White Sox game – Ethan’s first time.
SEPT 3 – 2 of my coworkers, good friends, have their jobs ‘eliminated’.
SEPT 5 – Trent has reversal surgery that is unsuccessful. He needs more healing time. He is in hospital for 9 days. Home with iv antibiotics.
OCT. 15 – T returns to work.
NOV. 12 – Dad was in a play at courthouse “Frozen Stiff”
NOV. 15 – I turned 40!
bday lunch at work
Family celebration dinner at The Lighthouse.
DEC. – My mother has multiple tests and a mass is found that could be cancerous.
DEC. 23 – T has another wound infection, go to ER at 10pm. Blood work, ct scan but luckily he is not admitted. We get home at 3am.
DEC. 27 – Mom has surgery and it looks like she is going to be ok. Cancer is found in uterus, but it is removed.
