Ethan has started baseballm we signed him up for Rookie league again this year, which is for 6-8 yr olds. We had requested the same coach as cousin Matt, but then found out that 32 other kids requested, too! 32!! Matt was lucky he got on that team again, we know of one kid that didn’t. Ethan is the only 8 yr old on his team, they all played tee-ball last year. He didn’t know anyone on his team, but almost all of them go to Solon with him.
The kickoff parade was May 7. It was a little cool that day, so I had him wear a sweatshirt underneath.
walking with his team around the square – 11 boys and their coach Lorenzo.
parade went to the fields, where they all lined up.
after the craziness of losing Ethan last year, I gave him explicit instructions on where to meet me this time! Turn LEFT after exiting the gate! a house close by the fields just added this awesome totem pole (or is it a tree?) that is a big baseball bat! It is my new landmark to turn in the alley to the parking lot now.
Ethan’s first game was later that Sat. Trent couldn’t make it until later due to games at the hs.
he got play at pitcher for the first game.
he gets a hit at the first game, so happy!
The first game was on the t-ball field, which is smaller than the others. It is the field the rest of his team is used to, this was their first time using the pitching machine and they did great!
I think he made it home, too! His team of young ones, are pretty good! Great batters, so far!
The first game he ended up getting 2 hits, then a 3rd one that he hit right to 1st base so he was out. Check out his little bummed out face…I was running video at the perfect time!
