We went to County Line Orchard on Sunday. It was my first time there. The boys went when E was in preschool and E remembered it some.
We got some hot apple cider that was soooo good! Then we headed out to the orchards on the tractors
Ethan’s favorite kind of apple is Fuji so we were headed for that field, also T wanted Suncrisp that was in the neighboring field.
We were told that a lot of the trees were really picked over. We walked down 2 aisles of Fuji and there were NONE.
He picked some Golden Delicious ones first.
We found a big bin at the end of an aisle and Ethan said he found a Fuji in there, at least he said it tasted like one. I doubt it really was, but it made him happy.
and T even asked if it was “all you can eat when out in the fields” That poor kid gave him the oddest look.
ooh Ethan thinks that one is a little sour
we walked back to the main barn to pay/weigh our apples and to get some donuts!! I believe the total weight of apples was 9lbs.
the pumpkin donuts were my fav! We just got 3 of apple and 3 of pumpkin. They were $1 each! or 6 were $4 and 12 were $7.
Ethan thought this big apple was neat and he had to get that cute little pumpkin that he named Minnow.
we were trying to find the MooChoo Train ride that we bought a ticket for Ethan. This lady led us the back way through the Kids Farm. She didn’t realize that we didn’t buy that wristband to get in there, though! We got to see all this stuff, which was neat.
this band was playing where we were standing in line for the train and there were bunch of picnic tables for there for the grill.
i liked this guy’s sparkly purple guitar – so cool!
It was a really neat place, it was crowded and it was a cool day. We were surprised by the amount of cars from IL.
We ended up buying a dozen pumpkin donuts
9 lbs of apples
a big caramel apple
a little pumpkin and a big pumpkin
and I had 2 hot apple ciders- so good!
We were so full that we skipped lunch. We ended up going to Northwoods around 3:30 and then a trip to Target.
