Weekend in Indy

Since the wrestling team made it to state, T needed to go down for the big meet on Sat. I decided that it would be fun for us all to go down there for the whole weekend. I wanted to be sure we could get a room at one of my company’s properties, so it would be comped. So excited to get to stay downtown at Courtyard.

I thought it would be great to get away and so Ethan could go swimming.

He ended up going swimming 4 different times, wow.

I also wanted to go to the Children’s Museum there, now that he is older.

Also, I wanted to get to see my friend, Sherry and her family. I was hoping to meet up at the museum.

I almost missed her phone call, reception at the museum wasn’t ideal, but we were able to meet up and hang out. So fun! I loved how E would follow L around everywhere. L has been there a bunch of times and they have a season pass since they are local.

This is at the entrance & ticketing area.

then there was a Star Wars-Clone Wars exhibitIMG_9645

they even had the lightsabers and guns from the moviesIMG_9643 IMG_9642ed IMG_9641

IMG_9651 Ethan played on the carousel level when we were waiting for Sherry’s family. E loved all these little play houses, even an ice cream storeIMG_9650 IMG_9649 IMG_9648

E was stuck up in this treehouse for a while with the little kids. There was a slide in the middle to get out of it and I just knew that he was waiting his turn and being polite. He said that some kids were walking up the slide, which he knows NOT to do. Ugh, I hate when kids do that. T and I totally figured that was the issue. IMG_9647

hey there is Sherry in the background… I didn’t get any pics of us togetherIMG_9663

E loves anything with computers so he had to make up a promiseIMG_9666IMG_9664

little David wanted to play on the computer, tooIMG_9667

then they even had a mock tv news stationIMG_9668IMG_9669

what fun IMG_9670ed

They even had a script to read, too neat!IMG_9672

they really loved Egypt, too… so cool IMG_9675 IMG_9674 IMG_9673

aww…they posed like thisIMG_9677

then I told them to look at meIMG_9678 IMG_9676

they had a restaurant with menus so the kids got to serve us…too neat IMG_9688 IMG_9687

After the museum we went to Shapiro’s Deli and T had an awesome pastrami sandwich, his first one ever.

E loves staying in a hotel. T and I brought our laptops with the free wi-fi. IMG_9692

We had to get home on Sunday morning to attend Matthew’s birthday party at 1pm. I wanted to go out for breakfast, looked up a Golden Corral and Cracker Barrel. We didn’t find the Cracker Barrel, so we ended up at a Golden Corral. Then they had already taken away the breakfast items by the time we got there! Indy is an hour later so we really weren’t expecting it.

Fun to get away and for free! Well, I did have a parking fee at the hotel $17, geez that downtown fee. It was so great to see Sherry and her family. Oh, and wrestling team was knocked out of the tourney by noon, so that is why we were able to go to the museum relatively early.
