T and I actually dressed up for Halloween because we were invited to a birthday party that was a costume party for Halloween. My good friend, Sally’s husband had his 50th birthday party. Trent knew what he wanted to be, but I wasn’t quite sure. I knew I wanted to be something that was purple, my fav color. I thought a witch would be easy, then somehow I saw a cupcake costume. I started researching how I could make it myself. I fell in love with using purple tulle.
Trent was John Goodman’s character, Walter Sobchak, from The Big Lebowski. He had started growing out his goatee to a beard last month, yeah he was that into it all. He ordered the vest and the special yellow shooting glasses and got a bandana, the rest he had of his own clothes.
I made the liner out of black headliner foam that I found at Joann’s, then used duct tape for the stripes. I tied ribbon to it to act like suspenders. The purple tulle was sort safety pinned to the liner edge and taped in places. I had purple and black garland around the top edge of the liner and the the sprinkles were glittery foam sheets I found at dollar store and cut out in shapes and attached to the tulle with double sided tape. I tied a small piece of the garland to a headband for my hair. The purple and black tights I happened to see at Walmart, before I knew what I was gonna be.
Me with girls from work – Sally as a wolf, Tina as a candle, Monica as a Russian spy
Tina and her husband were the 50 candles complete with the candle ‘tealights’ on their head. She spent alot of time on their costumes.
I noticed that Dave’s birthday cake were those cupcakes arranged in a design and they were purple! I had to take a pic with one!
Here is Dave and he plays keyboards in the band
and the rest of the band WolfPack – they are fun and play a good mixture of stuff
We danced alot and it was fun! When the band was on break we danced to the cupid shuffle.
